PRESIDENTÕS REPORT

President Fran Ferguson, reported Lucia Alvarez had fallen and has a slipped disk. A get well card was sent to her from the council.

She then proceeded to talk regarding the Dinner Dance. Fran said it was quite obvious our members did not want this Dinner Dance. This was our one big fund raiser, and our members have not shown support. We have a goal and that goal is to build an Art Center on top of the mountain. We need one big find raiser a year and we need your feed back in ways to help generate income. Fran also reminded everyone of the fact we do have many expenses and you all benefit from our council all year long. At the rate we are going it will take years to accumulate the money needed to build or purchase any building.

Marion Colvin got up and made a motion to increase the 5% we receive from sales.

She noted other Art groups are charging much more then 5%. A discussion followed with the usual pros and cons. This matter will be thought of and brought up at our next meeting.

Treasurer Dan Ferguson made a motion to cancel the Dinner Dance, this was second by Mary Kester  and carried.

Fran reminded everyone we will have our council elections at our November 8th, meeting. Tricia Lippert and her committee will make phone calls to all members asking if they are interested in running for a position as an officer.
