DESCRIPTION:Looking for something to jump-start your holiday season? Get in the spirit by joining a workshop where you will make a craft and enjoy a homemade lunch of soup\, bread\, and dessert! Quiet Valley Members\, check your email for a 15% off discount code. \n \n  \nThis year\, we will be offering the following full-day workshop choices: \nWorkshop 1: Card Weaving\nCard Weaving (also known as tablet weaving) allows weavers to work and play with color and design without having to invest in a lot of equipment. Card weaving involves using cards to organize threads\, so that students can weave a tape – a long thin band – which could be used for things like bookmarks\, decoration on clothing or even ukulele straps! No experience necessary!\nCost: $55\nInstructor: Kathy Hill \nWorkshop 2: Seat Weaving\nLearn to weave a seat using natural reed in an interesting herringbone pattern. The wooden stool with woen seat can be used for a child to sit upon\, plant stand\, foot rest\, etc. All supplies included.\nCost: $80.00\nInstructor: Ceal Yost \nWorkshop 3: German Straw Star\nStraw stars are traditional German and Scandinavian craft and are not as hard to make as they may appear with the right tools. Straw stars make beautiful gifts mounted to a card\, as decor on a package\, in a window hanging\, and as ornaments on a tree\, wreath\, or garland.\nCost: $72\nInstructor: Ellen Oiler \nWorkshop 4: Bread & Cookies with Flair: Decorated Focaccia and Stamped Thumbprints\nBack by popular demand—join us for a deliciously creative cooking class! First\, craft a stunning decorated focaccia bread\, turning a simple yeasted dough into an edible work of art with fresh vegetables and herbs. Then\, switch to sweets with charming stamped thumbprint cookies—buttery shortbread pressed with elegant cookie stamps and filled with jewel-toned jam\, perfect for holiday entertaining.
