Farmer cheese may be made from the milk of cows\, sheep or goats\, with each giving its own texture and flavor. During coagulation the mixture separates into curds (solid) and whey (liquid)\, then the whey is drained off. Further pressing out of the moisture yields the malleable solid results of pot cheese\, while even more pressing makes farmer cheese\, which is solid\, dry and crumbly. Adding herbs\, garlic or other ingredients creates a soft\, flavored spread. Enjoy samples as we take you through the process of making farmer’s cheese. \n\nDate: Thursday\, July 10th\nTime: 10:00am – 3:30pm\nFee: Included with tour admission\nInstructor: Carol Carpenetti URL:https://quietvalley.org/event/cheese-making/ LOCATION:Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm\, 347 Quiet Valley Rd\, Stroudsburg\, PA\, 18360\, United States CATEGORIES:Special Events,Summer Highlights Demos ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://quietvalley.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Cheese-Homeschool-Heritage.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20250705T100000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20250705T150000 DTSTAMP:20260225T102855 CREATED:20250616T134702Z LAST-MODIFIED:20250616T134702Z UID:18555-1751709600-1751727600@quietvalley.org SUMMARY:Bake Oven Highlight DESCRIPTION:For centuries\, the bake oven was the heart of the homestead kitchen\, providing families with fresh bread and baked goods on a weekly basis.
